The New York Yankees considering re-signing closer David Robertson their top priority writes the New York Daily News.

Robertson was given a qualifying offer from the Yankees which would have earned him $15.3 million but he would rather test his luck with a long-term deal.

At-least a half dozen clubs have expressed interest in signing the 29-year-old Robertson to a contract but his demands of “Papelbon money” may end up leading him to returning to the Yankees.

Taking over for Mariano Rivera last year, Robertson appeared in 63 games in 2014 racking up 39 saves while posting a 3.08 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP.
