Kyle Zimmer’s time in the Arizona Fall League is up after the right hander reinjured his right throwing shoulder on Saturday.
Zimmer lasted just one inning on Saturday and the Royals are worried that the injury suffered is the same that limited him to just 4 2/3 innings of work in the minors this year.
“He had some soreness in his shoulder, and rather than let him pitch through it, we just took him out of the game,” said assistant general manager J.J. Picollo.
“More than likely, we’re not going to push it any further this fall and just try to get this under control,” added Picollo.
It is another tough break for Zimmer who struck out 11 in his last AFL outing.
