Bumgarner, Shields to start Game 1 of the World Series

The San Francisco Giants and Kansas City Royals will kick off Game 1 of the World Series on Tuesday.

Taking to the mount for the Giants will be Madison Bumgarner. After finishing off St. Louis in Game 5 of the NLCS, Bumgarner will be on regular rest for this game. This post season Bumgarner is 2-1 and in his career owns a 2.67 ERA in 67 1/3 innings.

James Shields will be on the mount for the Royals. This post season Shields has made three starts allowing 10 runs in 16 innings of work. He will try to resemble the pitcher who was 14-8 with a 3.21 ERA during the regular season.
