With Andrew Friedman becoming the newest general manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers some quickly assumed that the former Tampa Bay Rays manager Joe Maddon would follow him out west.

That does not appear to be the case.

Maddon told reporters that he intended to remain with the Rays going forward.

“I want to continue to be a Ray, absolutely,” said Maddon.

For what its worth Friedman plans to keep Don Mattingly as the manager of the Dodgers in 2015.

Prior to 2014, Maddon had put together six straight seasons of above .500 ball with the Rays. In nine seasons with the Rays he has produced a 754-705 record.
