Ryan Zimmerman was hobbled by a torn hamstring in August and September taking him out of the lineup for the Washington Nationals.
On Wednesday during an intrasquad game Zimmerman played in left field, a move that suggests that the 30-year-old will be used as a bench player in the National League Divisional Series against the San Francisco Giants.
Though 61 games this season Zimmerman finished with a .280/.342/.449 line with five home runs and 38 RBI.
