Madison Bumgarner threw a complete game shutout against the Pittsburgh Pirates to help the San Francisco Giants advance to the National League Divisional Series.
Now it will be Jake Peavy’s turn to take the mound as manager Bruce Bochey has tabbed the veteran right hander to start against the Washington Nationals and ace Stephen Strasburgh.
Acquired in a mid-season trade from Boston, Peavy posted a 2.17 ERA in 78 2/3 innings of work.
Bumgarner is expected to start game 3 of the NLDS.
