Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez has landed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right pectoral muscle.
Sanchez, 30, was removed from his start on Friday. He is expected to miss the next 3-4 weeks which is a significant blow to the Tigers.
Robbie Ray figures to be Sanchez’s replacement in the rotation.
In 21 starts this season Sanchez was 8-5 with a 3.53 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP.
