The Los Angeles Dodgeres have recalled infielder Darwin Barney from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Barney, 28, had been seeing time at shortstop while with Albuquerque even though he had been used as a second baseman during his time with the Chicago Cubs.
While Barney is a superb defender he will not provide much at the plate hitting just .230/.265/.328 with two home runs and 16 RBI.
The Dodgers traded away Low-A pitcher Jonathan Martinez for Barney.
