Catcher A.J. Pierzynski hit his first home run with the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday night in a blowout loss to the Baltimore Orioles.

The two-run home run by Pierzynski was the only offense that the Cardinals could muster on Friday night. Hitting .313 since being signed by the Cardinals last month he currently has filled in admirably in the absence of Yadier Molina.

Pierzynksi’s home run came off of Orioles starter Chris Tillman who was otherwise sterling in 6 2;3 innings of work.

The Orioles bats on the other hand were also in good form taking care of Justin Masterson in short order.

J.J. Hardy homered twice while Adam Jones, Chris Davis, Ryan Flaherty and Manny Machado also connected with long balls. Every Oriole starter had a hit in Friday’s game,
