The Atlanta Braves are activating pitcher David Carpenter from the disabled list.

Carpenter went on the DL with a strained right biceps. He spent the minimum time on the DL and will return for Wednesday’s game against Arizona.

To make room for Carpenter the Braves will send Juan Jaime back to Triple-A Gwinnett. Jaime was called up on Tuesday to take the roster spot of catcher Evan Gattis who was sent to the disabled list with a herniated disc in his back. With two catchers on the Braves roster they are not forced to make a move for an additional catcher at this time.

In 34 games this season Carpenter has a 4.23 ERA and a 1.74 WHIP to go with a 35/8 K/BB ratio. He will once again be a late inning option ahead of Craig Kimbrel.
