The San Diego Padres will be sellers as baseball’s July 31 trade deadline approaches.

Long out of contention in the NL West the Padres will be looking to unload anyone with value as they start over with a new front office.

The most sought after players on the Padres roster will be third baseman Chase Headley, starter Ian Kennedy and relievers Huston Street and Joaquin Benoit but outfielders Seth Smith, Cameron Maybin and Chris Denorfia could be just as important trade chips for contending teams.

Smith is by far the biggest masher of the group of Padre outfielders that could be available. The 31-year-old has a .273/.376/.485 line with eight home runs and 24 RBI in 71 games.
