The Chicago White Sox have purchased the contract of right handed relief pitcher Javy Guerra from Triple-A Charlotte.
Guerra, 28, will take the roster spot of injured reliever Matt Lindstrom who lands on the 15-day disabled list with a left ankle injury.
Guerra had pitched well at Triple-A compiling a 2.33 RA and a 11/8 K/BB ratio in 19 1/3 innings of work.
Guerra once was the closer of the Los Angeles Dodgers where he racked up 21 saves in his rookie season. In 101 big league games he holds a 2.90 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP.
