Albert Pujols became the third youngest player to reach the 500 home run milestone when he hit a home run on Tuesday night.

Pujols hit career home runs 499 and 500 off of Taylor Jordan in Tuesday’s game against the Washington Nationals.

Only Alex Rodriguez and Jimmie Foxx got to 500 sooner than Pujols, who is 34 years and 96 days old. Rodriguez was 32 years, 8 days when he got to 500 in 2007.

After hitting a career low 17 home runs last season Pujols is already up to eight this season.
