Philadelphia Phillies pitcher A.J. Burnett left Friday’s start after experiencing groin soreness during the fifth inning.
Burnett left the game after 4 1/3 innings of work. Prior to departing he had already thrown 106 pitches of which 54 were for strikes. He allowed two runs on five hits and six walks while striking out four.

The Phillies were leading 3-2 at the time of his exit and scored three in the bottom of the inning but Burnett will not pick up the win.
After three starts with the Phillies, Burnett has a 3.94 ERA and a 1.94 WHIP in 16 innings of work.
