The Texas Rangers activated pitcher Yu Darvish from the 15-day disabled list on Sunday. The right hander will start Sunday’s contest against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Darvish missed his first start of the season due to neck discomfort but he should be all systems go in this one.
Entering his third season, Darvish said he had no worries leading up to his first start of the season.
“What do I have to be concerned about?” Darvish said on Saturday. “There have been days where I have gone 45 days without throwing, and I certainly didn’t have any concerns then. I’m not concerned now.”
The Rangers are hoping to see a repeat of 2013 when Darvish posted a 2.83 ERA and a league high 277 strike outs in 209 2/3 innings of work.
