Dodgers acquire Colt Hynes from Indians, designate Mike Baxter for assignment

The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired left handed pitcher Colt Hynes from the Cleveland Indians in exchange for Duke von Schamann.

Last week the Indians designated Hynes for assignment but now he will report to Triple-A Albuquerque where he will provide depth for the Dodgers bullpen. Last season the 28-year-old Hynes made 22 appearances with the San Diego Padres producing a 9.00 ERA and a 2.00 WHIP across 17 innings of work.

In order to make room for Hynes on their 40-man roster they have designated Mike Baxter for assignment. Baxter cracked the Dodgers Opening Day roster and made seven at-bats failing to gain a hit. He first was booted from the active roster with the return of Matt Kemp.

The 22-year-old Schamann will report to Double-A for the Indians.
