The Oakland Athletics have signed left-handed relief pitcher Eric O’Flaherty to a two-year contract.
Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports tweeted out that the deal is worth $7 million.
O’Flaherty will turn 29 before Spring Training gets underway. He appeared in 19 games last season finishing with a 2.50 ERA and a 0.94 WHIP.
The Braves have relied heavily on O’Flaherty since 2009 and early indications were that he would rejoin the team on a one-year deal but discussions broke down likely due to compensation.
During his time in Atlanta, O’Flaherty has appeared in 295 games with a 1.99 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP.
O’Flaherty will likely have to wait until May to debut with the Athletics.
