Phillies land Chad Gaudin on minor league deal

The Philadelphia Phillies have added veteran pitcher Chad Gaudin.

Gaudin, 30, pitched for the San Francisco Giants last season operating as a swing man. He pitched in 30 games, making 12 starts. He finished with a 3.06 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP.

While Gaudin has pitched for multiple teams, he has not done so with the Phillies. He could earn $750,000 if he cracks the big league roster out of spring training. He stands a good chance but there is no financial risk by the Phillies here since his deal is not guaranteed.

In parts of 11 seasons Gaudein has appeared in 344 games compiling a 45-44 record, 4.44 ERA and a 1.48 WHIP.
