A deal between Grant Balfour and the Baltimore Orioles is in danger of falling though.
Balfour, 35, and the Orioles were said to have reached agreement on a two-year deal worth $15 million but concerns about his right shoulder could kill the deal.
The Orioles were hoping the addition of Balfour would make up for Jim Johnson who was traded to Oakland in a cost cutting move.
Acrdng to sources, issue w Balfour concerns right shoulder. Had surgery for rotator cuff/labrum tear in Sept 2005. No shoulder probs since

Balfour has not had any problems since undergoing surgery on his rotator cuff in 2005.
It’s unclear if the concerns about Balfour’s shoulder will cause the Orioles to pull their offer or simply add some added protection for themselves.
