The Minnesota Twins sought to sign a veteran catcher this offseason. On Friday reports began circulating that th Twins had signed Kurt Suzuki to a one-year deal.
Suzuki, 30, will earn $2.75 million under terms of his deal with the Twins. He could earn more in incentives while splitting time behind home plate with Josmil Pinto.

Last season Suzuki’s offensive numbers bottomed out to .232/.290/.337 with five home runs and 32 RBI in 285 at-bats. He’s unlikely to improve on that line much but offers the Twins stellar defense and is considered a positive clubhouse guy.
