The Chicago White sox have added left handed relief pitcher Scott Downs to their bullpen.
Downs, 37, remains one of the best left handed specialist in the game and will earn $4 million during the 2014 season. There is a vesting option attached to Downs’ contract which can make it worth $8 million over two seasons.

Last season Downs spent time split between the Los Angeles Angels and Atlanta Braves. He finished with a 2.49 ERA in 43 1/3 innings of work.
