The Seattle Mariners have acquired first baseman Logan Morrison from the Miami Marlins.

Morrison, 26, had been dangled in trade talks since the offseason began and its the Marliners who landed him. Morrison was a .249/.337/.427 hitter in four seasons with the Marlins and had a career best 23 home runs and 72 RBI in 2011.

The Marlins got reliever Carter Capps in return. Capps compiled a 5.49 ERA and a 1.63 WHIP in 59 innings of work last season. He should find a place in the Marlins bullpen in 2014.
