Teams still trying to pry Chris Sale away from White Sox

The Chicago White Sox are not interested in trading left handed starting pitcher Chris Sale but that has not stopped teams from asking.

Sale, 24, is coming off a stellar season for the White Sox which saw him compile a 3.07 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in 214 1/3 innings of work. Sale’s 226/46 K/BB ratio and four complete games have him on a short list of baseball’s best at pitcher right now.

Under team control though 2019 the White Sox only reason for trading Sale would be a package which included multiple prospects which could quicken their current rebuilding phase.

However the White Sox have rarely shown a desire to rebuild with Kenny Williams and Rick Hahn. The current contract status of manager Robin Ventura also complicates the White Sox plans going forward.

We do not see Sale going anywhere but stranger things have happened.
