Former catcher Johnny Estrada was arrested in Coweta County on Thursday. Estrada, 37, was picked up for domestic violence charges according to the Newnan Times-Herald.

Estrada was charged after deputies visited a home Wednesday night responding to complaints from his wife, Jennifer, who told them that he had made death threats against her.

The Estradas moved to Coweta County after he stopped playing baseball in 2008. There Johnny Estrada opened a pizza place which closed last year.

In eight big league seasons he compiled a .277/.317/.400 line with 42 home runs and 285 RBI. Estrada played for the Phillies, Braves, Brewers and Nationals. His best season came in 2004 as a member of the Braves when he was selected to the All-Star game and won a Silver Slugger Award.
