It took Alex Rodriguez until Aug. 11th to hit his first home run of the 2013 season. Rodriguez did not play his first game of the season until Aug. 8 as he worked his way back from hip surgery.
On Sunday Rodriguez finally hit career home run No. 648. The blast came against the Detroit Tigers in the first inning against Tigers starter Justin Verlander.
Rodriguez would later add an RBI single.
