John Lackey turned in another quality outing on Wednesday by tossing seven innings of two run ball against Colorado.

Lackey tied a career high with 12 strikeouts while walking none. It was the seventh quality start for Lackey in his last eight outings as he lowered his ERA to 2.99 and his WHIP to 1.20 on the season.

The 12 strikeouts matched Lackey’s career high from 2008 and was 14th time that Lackey has recorded 10 or more in his career. The win evened Lackey’s record at 5-5 on the year.

As impressive as Lackey the opposite can be said for Rockies starter Roy Oswalt. After two starts in his return to the majors Oswalt is 0-2 with a 7.36 ERA.
