The Texas Rangers have activated catcher A.J. Pierzysnki from the 15-day disabled list.
Pierzynski, 36, had been dealing with a strained right oblique since the beginning of May. Over the weekend Pierzynksi played two games for Double-A Frisco where he went 1-for-6 with a strikeout.
On the season Pierzynski is batting .263/.297/.411 with four home runs and 11 RBI in 26 games.
In order to make room for Pierzyski the Rangers have sent Robinson Chirinos to Triple-A. Chirinos was 3-for-12 during his brief stay with the club.
