The Atlanta Braves activated catcher Brian McCann from the 15-day disabled list and will welcome him back to the lineup Monday night when they open up a series against the Reds in Cincinnati.

McCann, a six-time All-Star, had surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder last October.

In six games McCann hit .364 with four homers in his first six games with Class A Rome and Gwinnett.

The Braves optioned Tyler Pastornicky to make room for McCann on the roster. Gattis gets to stay and will likely spot in an outfield corner, and catch a little while providing a power threat off of the bench.

Jason Heyward is not expected to return until the end of the month after having an appendectomy, but is suspected to travel with the team and take batting practice.
