What could the Texas Rangers have done if they wanted to re-sign Josh Hamilton?
“She said they should have put a ring on it.” said Hamilton at his introduction on Sunday.
Hamilton was his typical joking self in the press conference but expressed disappointment that he was not perused by the Rangers with more aggression.
“I gave them everything I had for five years,” Hamilton said. “I’d be lying to you if I said it didn’t bother me a little bit.”
“My take was, we were with them for five years,” Katie Hamilton said. “If you’re going to date somebody and they’re going to be your man or your woman, you make it official pretty quick that you want to be with them.
The Angels were looking to make a splash after the Dodgers had grabbed all of the headlines in Los Angeles recently with their high profiled signings. Hamilton and last years prized free agent signing Albert Pujols figure to make a dangerous punch in the middle of the Angels lineup. They will be joined by MVP runner-up Mike Trout.
In Texas there is uncertainty. The Rangers placed a heavy emphasis on signing Zack Greinke but he went to the Dodgers. They also lost Mike Napoli who choose to sign with Boston and reliever Mike Adams who signed with Philadelphia. The teams captain for the last decade was traded to the Phillies as well.
