Tigers sign veteran Torii Hunter to two year deal

The Detroit Tigers and general manager Dave Dombrowski set their sights on
Torii Hunter this offseason. The former gold glove award winner said that he liked the idea of playing on Detroit. The Tigers went to the World Series this past season but were swept by the San Francisco Giants.

Today the Tigers and Hunter agreed on a two-year deal worth $26 million.

The 37-year-old, Hunter batted .313/.365/.451 with 16 home runs, 92 RBI, nine stolen bases and an .817 OPS for the Los Angeles Angels this past season. He spent the last six seasons with the Angels.
