Louisiana’s Boxing and Wrestling Commission passed a rul eon Wednesday prohibiting fighters with breast implants from competing unless they receive clearance from their doctor.

“If they want to look good, then they don’t have to be in the ring,” commissioner Harold Williams said during the meeting according to Fox Sports.

How did we get to this point?

The issue was brought to light when a female fighter withdrew from a scheduled fight due to a problem with one of her implants. This incident raised concerns over who would be financially responsibility if something was to happen during a state-sanctioned match.

No other U.S. state commissions have a rule but some do require female fighters to wear breast plates.
