Jaromir Jagr does not expect to be back with the Boston Bruins next season. The 41-year-old was acquired at the trade deadline and served as a half season rental for the team as they went to the Stanley Cup Finals.
During his 33 games with the Bruins, Jagr scored nine points. (2 goals and 17 assists)
Jagr told reporters about his time in Boston and joked “Maybe if I scored 20 goals in the playoffs it would be a different story, but I was 20 short.”
He does intend to play next season though.
“I want to do it [play in the NHL again], I love this game so much that’s for sure,” Jagr said. “So I don’t want to go back to Czech yet.”
In addition to Jagr, the Bruins will not re-sign Andrew Ference or Jay Pandolfo.
