Women’s Figure Skating has long been one of the Winter Olympics favorite events, it will be no different in 2014. The USA has fielded a three woman squad who will be competing for medals in Sochi – but really Ashley Wagner, Gracie Gold and Polina Edmunds have already won gold in our hearts.

We take a look at the three women who make up the USA Women’s Figure skating team.

Ashley Wagner

Perhaps no US Olympic athlete enters Sochi with more pressure on them than Ashley Wagner. The 22-year-old Wanger is a two-time national champion. Despite a fourth place finish at the U.S. Championships a month ago she was placed on the Olympic team.

Below we take a visual look at the 5-foot-3 Wagner who was born in Heidelberg, Germany but now resides in Aliso Viejo, California.

Gracie Gold

So Wagner may have all the accolades, but many thing it will be Gracie Gold who will make the heats of America melt. The 18-year-old was born in Newton, Massachusetts but grew up in the midwest spending time in Springfield Missouri and Springfield Illinois. She now resides in Los Angeles.

The 5-foot-6 Gold captured the gold at the 2014 US Championships after winning silver the year before.

Polina Edmunds

At just 15 years of age, Polina Edmunds is the youngest US skater. The California born girl is fresh off a second place finish at the US Championships in Boston.

Edmunds is 5-foot-4 and first stepped onto the ice at just twenty months. By four she was taking ballet and now she finds herself in Sochi. Quite a life.
