Speaking on ESPN Sports Center, Todd Archer reported that Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo had suffered two small fractures in his back during Monday’s loss.

Romo was able to return from the injury on Monday night but his status for Sunday’s game against an Arizona defense which has a tendency to blitz and attack the quarterback could be in question.

Archer believes the Cowboys will monitor Romo “week-to-week-to-week” in making any decisions on his future.

While the latest news is unsettling for Cowboy fans its worth mentioning that this report does little, if anything, to rule Romo out for Sunday’s game. The ultimate decision will still be how the quarterback feels and appears in warm-ups on Sunday.

Brandon Weeden would start in place of Romo if he cannot go. Weeden led the Cowboys to 10 points during his time under center on Monday night.
