As part of his restructuring with the Pittsburgh Steelers, tight end Heath Miller was give a two-year extension.
Miller, 31, will now be under contract with the Steelers though the 2016 season.
Most important for the Steelers is that his cap number for the 2014 season drops from $9.5 million to $6.1 million. He will receive base salaries of $4 million in 2015 and 2016 as part of his new deal.

Miller’s production was hampered some last season as he worked back from a knee injury he suffered late in 2012. The Steelers simply want him to improve on the 58 catches for 593 yards and one touchdown he had last season.
Miller has played exclusively for the Steelers since being the 30th overall pick in 2005.
