Jeff Lockie was forced into Monday’s NCAA Football National Championship when Heisman trophy winner Marcus Mariota left with a right shoulder injury.
After a false start, Lockie’s first and only pass was high over a receiver for an incompletition. Mariota returned for the following 3rd and 27 play. He completed a pass but but it was not enough for a first down. Oregon then opted to show a punt on fourth down forcing Ohio state to call a timeout.
