The Houston Rockets fought off the San Antonio Spurs during the second half of Sunday night’s game which boosted them to a 112-106 victory. The win by the Rockets marked the Spurs first loss on their home court this season.

James Harden prevailed for the Rockets giving them 16 points in the final quarter of play. Harden would eventually finish the intense game with 31 points. Chandler Parsons also played a huge role in snatching the victory. Parsons scored 25 points along with five assists.

The game changer came when Harden hit a tough three pointer with one minute left to tie the game. From that point on the Spurs were scoreless till the end of the game.

“That was the shot of the game,” Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said

The Spurs hacked Dwight Howard to put him at the free throw line during the fourth quarter. It didn’t work out as planned as Howard knocked down five out of eight from the line.

“It’s going to be a dogfight every time we see these guys,” Howard said. “And that’s what we want. That’s going to make us better as a team, and it’s going to make it fun for the fans to watch.”

Tony Parker led the Spurs in scoring with 27 and eight assists. Manu Ginobili posted nine points off the bench but added 11 assists.

The Rockets hit the hardwood again on Monday against the Utah Jazz while the Spurs don’t play again until Wednesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
