The use of Kevin Gausman’s innings by the Baltimore Orioles has been a topic for debate for a few seasons, following the 24-year-old’s outing on Thursday it appears he may stay in the teams rotation for the time being.
Gausman allowed four hits, walked two and struck out seven in 6 1/3 scoreless innings in what proved to a be a 2-0 loss for the Orioles against the Texas Rangers. It got the attention of the Orioles coaching staff who is looking for a rotation boost.
Bud Norris has been problematic for the Orioles all season. In his 11 starts he is 2-7 with a 6.79 ERA and a 1.62 WHIP. Enter Gausman, who is anything but Norris at this point.
Gausman traveled with the Orioles to Chicago but thus far it’s unknown what the Orioles plans are.
