The San Francisco Giants have placed relief pitcher Jeremy Affeldt on the 15-day disabled list with a shoulder strain.
On Thursday the 36-year-old Affeldt allowed four runs without recording an out. Their is no indication as to how long the left hander will be out of action. The Giants have summoned Micahel Broadway to take his place in the bullpen.
Though 33 games this season Affeldt has a 5.96 ERA and a 1.81 WHIP.
