Those Ike Davis to the Pirates rumors have been going on for months. On Friday the first baseman was traded to Pittsburgh for Zack Thornton and a player to be named later.
Davis, 27, is 5-for-24 (.208) this season with one home run which happened to be a walk-off grand slam.
The #Pirates have acquired 1B Ike Davis from the #Mets in exchange for Zack Thornton and a PTBN.

Davis was linked to Tampa Bay, Baltimore and Milwaukee in trade talk this winter in addition to the Pirates.
The Pirates will use Davis against right handed pitchers while Gabby Sanchez will continue to hit against left hander. A spot needs to be opened up on the 40-man roster for Davis, something the Pirates should announce soon.
Thornton, 25, had a 2.63 ERA with 10.8 K/9 in 75 1/3 minor league relief innings last season. He will join the Mets bullpen immediately.
Fantasy Impact: With the trade Davis figures to get regular playing time with the Pirate while Lucas Duda of the Mets will also see a tick up in his playing time with Davis out of the picture.
