The Pittsburgh Priates have reached a six-year extension with outfielder Starling Marte.
According to MLB NEtwork Radio’s Jim Duquete the deal is worth $31 million. The contract will include two option years and buys out at-least two years of free agency.
Source confirmed that the Marte deal is for 31 million – over 6 years.

Last season Marte hit .280/.343/.441 with 12 home runs and 35 RBI with 83 runs scored and 41 stolen bases in 135 games for the Pirates.
With Andrew McCutchen locked out and the likes of Gregory Polano and Austin Meadows on the way to the majors, the Pirates are looking stable in the outfield.
