The Pittsburgh Pirates added the bat of Justin Morneau on Saturday.
Morneau, 32, is a former American League MVP but has struggled at times to return to form after suffering a concussion in 2010.

This season Morneau was hitting .259/.315/.426 with 17 home runs and 74 RBI through 495 at-bats. In Pittsburgh the addition of Morneau spells the end of the platoon of Garrett Jones and Gaby Sanchez at first.
In order to acquire Moreneau the Pirates sent outfielder Alex Presley to the Twins. Presley, 28, should see plenty of playing time in the Twins outfield.
Morneau will be a free agent at the end of the season.
