The trade sending starting pitcher Matt Garza to the Texas Rangers is no longer a certainty.
After the trade was ruled 99% done it has hit a snag. The hold up appears to be which prospects the Rangers will send back to the Chicago Cubs for Garza.
The Cubs are now listening to offers from other teams.
According to Yahoo Sports, the Rangers have offered some collection of third baseman Mike Olt and starting pitchers Neil Ramirez and C.J. Edwards. The Rangers also have expressed interest in Cubs left-handed reliever James Russell.
Garza is 6-1 with a 3.17 ERA over 11 starts this season and is considered to be the best starting pitcher available via trade. Garza will become a free agent at seasons end.
