Maria Sharapova delivered quite the slam to tennis rival Serena Williams at a pre-Wimbelton new conference,.
“If she wants to talk about something personal, maybe she should talk about her relationship and her boyfriend that was married and is getting a divorce and has kids.” said Sharapova.
Sharapova’s comments come after a Rolling Stone article in which Williams was critical of a unnamed opponent who the author surmized was Sharapova. In the story Williams said of the unnamed player “If she wants to be with the guy with a black heart, go for it.”
Perhaps Sharapova is equally bothered by her play against Williams as Williams has won the last 13 matches between the two.
