Chase Briscoe’s time of 49.249 seconds has placed the No. 19 Toyota Camry on the pole for the season opening Daytona 500. This is the third pole of Briscoe’s career.
Joining Briscoe on the front row at Daytona will be Austin Cindric.
Two of the open cars have locked themselves into the field on speed. Those cars are the No. 56 driven by Martin Truex Jr., and the No. 84 of Jimmie Johnson.
The field for Sunday’s race will have 40 or 41 cars depending on whether or not Helio Castroneves races his way in during Thursday’s Duel races. The duel races will take place beginning at 7:00 pm.
