Daniel Suarez announced Tuesday on social media that he will part ways with Trackhouse Racing at the end of the 2025 NASCAR season. In his statement, Suarez said the decision was mutual and expressed gratitude for his time with the team, adding, “This 99 team will always be special to me… the best is ahead!”

Suarez, 33, has been with Trackhouse since its debut in 2021, making him the organization’s first driver. Over five seasons, he has secured two Cup Series victories and made the playoffs in two of those years. He signed a one-year contract extension last season. This year, he currently sits 29th in the points standings heading into the Chicago Street Race.

Trackhouse has not yet named a replacement, but 18-year-old development driver Connor Zilisch is a potential candidate. Zilisch, currently racing in the Xfinity Series for JR Motorsports, has made three Cup starts for Trackhouse this year, including at Atlanta.

Team owner Justin Marks praised Suarez’s contributions, saying his work ethic and dedication were key in building the Trackhouse brand. “We are proud of his wins, the growth of his brand, and his emergence as a valuable athlete in America’s greatest motorsport,” Marks said.

Suarez, the 2016 Xfinity Series champion, made his Cup debut in 2017 with Joe Gibbs Racing. His first Cup win came in 2022 at Sonoma, followed by a win at Atlanta in 2023 during the closest 1-2-3 finish in NASCAR history. He has made 305 Cup starts and also recently won a June Xfinity race in Mexico for JR Motorsports.
