Shane Van Gisbergen will lead the NASCAR Cup Series debut into Mexico. With a time of 1:32.776, Van Gisbergen put his No. 88 Chevrolet on the pole where he will be joined by Ryan Preece on the front row.
Ross Chastian, Ty Gibbs, and Michael McDowell will all start inside the top-five.
Van Gisbergen made headlines when he won the 2023 Chicago Street race in his first ever Cup Series start. Last season he competed full-time in the Xfinity Series.
The Viva Mexico 250 will be the first time the Cup Series race has raced outside of the United States since the series range three exhibition races in Japan from 1996-1998 at two different tracks.
