Kyle Laron’s hopes of winning the regular season points championship took a big hit in Sunday’s running of the Grant Park 165.
Larson was trying to make a move around Ty Gibbs for second place when he locked up his tires and went into the tire barriers in turn 6.

The safety crew was able to pull his car out of the barrier, however Larson was unable to limp around to the pits.
Despite missing the rain shortened Coca-Cola 600, Larson entered the day as the points leader.
