NASCAR gave Joey Gase a $5,000 fine for a safety violation after the 31-year-old threw the rear bumper of his car during the Xfinity Series race at Richmond Raceway.
Gase was unhappy after being bumped and sent to the wall off of the No. 4 Chevrolet driven by Dawson Cram on lap 173. He responded by ripping off the rear bumper of his crashed No. 35 car and throwing it at Cram’s windshield under caution.
The replay of the event was show multiple times on the television broadcast.
Gase later offered a t-shirt of the throw for sale to fans.
After avoiding a suspension, Gase seems to be taking the matter in stride.
“Any Bail Bond Companies want to Sponsor this weekend!?” he wrote on Facebook.
