Grant Enfinger’s No. 9 Grant County Mulch Chevrolet Silverado RST will feature a special paint scheme for Friday night’s Long John Silver’s 200 at Martinsville Speedway. The CR7 Motorsports entry will pay tribute to Bobby Gill, a former USAR Hooters Pro Cup Champion. The scheme resembles the car that Gill ran in the Pro Cup Series during the early 2000’s.
“Bobby (Gill) is a true short track legend, and I’m grateful that we will be able to honor him this week at Martinsville,” said Enfinger. “Hopefully, we can give Bobby something to smile about on Friday night.”
Bobby Gill carries an extensive racing resume. The majority of his racing career was spent in the Pro Cup Series (now known as the zMAX CARS Tour), winning three consecutive championships between 1999 and 2001, along with a fourth championship in 2007. Gill is also a former NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series driver. He made sixteen starts and scored four top-10 finishes. More recently, Gill was inducted into The 2024 Florida Short Track Racing Hall of Fame.
Bobby Gill, who was recently diagnosed with cancer, has been long-time friends with CR7 Motorsports team owner, Codie Rohrbaugh. Rohrbaugh is proud to pay tribute to Gill and all of his racing accomplishments by running one of Gill’s paint schemes on Enfinger’s truck at Martinsville Speedway. Gill is in good spirits and is grateful to have one of his prior paint schemes back on the track.
“I am grateful for Codie (Rohrbaugh) and everyone involved in making this happen,” said Gill, “I think this is great. I will be watching and cheering Grant (Enfinger) on Friday night.”
The Bobby Gill tribute will be seen on track for the Long John Silver’s 200 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race at Martinsville Speedway on Friday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m. ET, airing on FOX Sports 1, The Motor Racing Network (MRN) and SiriusXM NASCAR channel 90.
